Message from the Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleagues,

The Journal of Advanced Concrete Technology is a new international journal that was launched under the auspices of the Japan Concrete Institute (JCI). JCI is a leading professional organization that has been committed to the promotion of research on new concrete technology and structures, as well as dissemination of practical information on concrete practice and associated real-world applications. This publication, among other things, intoduces international activities promoting research, particularly on topics such as seismic design of RC structures and the rehabilitation of damaged structures, autogenous shrinkage in early age concrete, concrete fracture mechanics, highly flowable concrete and non-metallic fiber-reinforced concrete. At the same time, this is intended to be a broad-based primary journal encompassing all the sub-disciplines of concrete technology. It aims to serve as a technical forum for the cross-fertilization of ideas, scholarly discussion, and the dissemination of practical information among scientists, technologists and practitioners.

Prior to acceptance, all submitted manuscripts will be subjected to comprehensive peer-review process by referees selected to ensure quick reviews done to the highest standards. Internationally renowned experts serve in the advisory board.
This journal publishes chiefly original research contributions and discussions of previous articles. Invited review articles, selected articles from JCI conferences, and case studies may occasionally be published. Contributions have been abstracted in major indexing services including Science Citation Index Expanded.
The Journal of Advanced Concrete Technology is now selecting articles, including articles for special sections. Thus, realizing that our success will depend greatly on quality contributions, I cordially invite distinguished academics and researchers on concrete technology and associated sub-disciplines to submit their contributions.
Additionally, cooperation through individuals and library subscriptions will allow the journal to thrive and meaningfully contribute to academics and practitioners.
