- ACT Initial Submission Form
This checklist is a summary of the review results for the rejected papers during the last 5 years and is shown for potential authors not to be declined by the obvious lack in the basic requirements.
Potential authors first have to decide the paper type, scientific paper or technical report, by which the requirements are different.
Scientific paper should clarify unexplained subjects or should enable new design through scientific discussions in combination with inspections, experiments and analysis.
Technical report should be credited with publication solely by its novelty in experiment, inspection, testing method, new material development, construction technique and analytical result even if the results are not fully discussed.
Does your paper, whether it is technical report or the scientific paper, have
(1) a relation to concrete technology and engineering availability?
(2) appropriate means corresponding to the title or the purpose of the paper?
(3) experiments or analysis actually necessary for obtaining the result?
(4) superior quality than that of the past ACT papers?
Does your technical report, when dealing only with experimental or analytical results, have
(5) new findings different from other experiments or analysis in the past?
(6) a design of experiment or analysis appropriate for the purpose?
(7) scientific and undogmatic consequences?
(8) universal usability?
(9) sufficient investigations of existing models and design formulas in validating a new material?
(10) sufficient investigations of evaluation method, production method and standards in applying a new material?
Does your scientific paper, in addition to above (5)-(10) conditions, have
(11) new scientific discussions, new prediction formulas or analytical study for the experiments?
(12) sufficient discussions on the discrepancy between the experiments and existing models or prediction formulas that you modified?
